John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched a multitude of people through his songs. A lot of them are inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and settled down in Aspen. More than a few people took the road to Colorado due to Denver's famous songs for his home state. I can't think of any other performer who embodies Colorado as well as John Denver said G. Brown director of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever inductee. Today, he is seen as the symbol of Colorado to people from throughout the world. When you encounter people from other countries, like New Zealanders and ask them "I am from Colorado" and they immediately respond with Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief time in folk-based groups included Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track along with Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver saw an early rendition he knew right away the track could become the next hit single. The song was recorded by the singer just a few days later following a performance to the awe-inspiring crowd in Washington D.C.
